"From naught to a ton in one century"
It all began in 1910.
Joseph Wallek founded a removal business in Annaberg/Silesia carrying furniture
on wooden-wheeled carts drawn by four-horse teams. To stay up-to-date and, as
later on, to stay just one step ahead of the competition his son Paul Wallek made
the transition to modern vehicles such as Opel Blitz, Gräf+Stift, Büssing, Austro
Fiat and Henschel in 1938.
As was the case with many other companies, the rapid success was interrupted by WWII.
In 1949 Paul Wallek returned from Russia where he’d been a POW and settled with his
family in Aschau/Chiemgau. Here he energetically built up a parcel delivery service
operating between Aschau, Rosenheim and Munich. In 1954 his son, Horst Wallek, joined
the firm. The company’s offices, together with the two vehicles, were moved to the
transport node Munich. From then on the continuous development of the parcel collection
service into a scheduled service between Munich and Berchtesgaden was unstoppable.
Particularly so when the first special haulage vehicle, a Unimog tractor unit with an
Eylert attachment, was added in 1970. The demand for special haulage was steadily
increasing. Consequently, Horst Wallek Senior decisively separated out the parcel
collection service in 1975 and, step by step, transformed the vehicle fleet into a
heavy haulage operation in accordance with the customers’ requirements.
In 1988 his son, Horst Wallek Junior, the founder’s, Joseph’s, great grandson, joined
the company management. The fertile interplay of decades of experience and fresh ideas
enabled father and son to continuously develop new, custom transport solutions and to
implement them for you, our customers. In 1998 the father gradually withdrew from
business management and left the field to the younger generation. Of course, he is
still there to offer advice and guidance.
